Equatorians Edgar Diminich and Jaime Santos are champions of the Western Hemisphere and Orient Championship

Diminich and Santos are new WH and O Champions!

Edgar Diminich & Jaime Santos of Ecuador captured the 2016 Western Hemisphere & Orient title in a tie breaker with Brazilians Rafael Gagliotti and Henrique Wisniewski.  Sailing fairly consistently over the week, the regatta came down to the race 4 which Diminich & Santos won, giving them the win on the tiebreaker. The fleet saw varying conditions to test all skills. Congratulations to Edgar & Jaime & an automatic entry into the Worlds in Spain in 2017!

Snipe WHO Day 4

The most important international event of the Snipe class in 2016 arrives tomorrow, Saturday (25/6), his last day with five crews from three different countries pulling ahead in the title race and the podium. After eight races contested, the ten planned, the competition comes to a close with two tests that promise to boil the cold waters of cabofriense winter.

Snipe WHO Day 2

Two races were sailed on Wednesday in Cabo Frio. Puerto Ricans Raul Rios and Andre Guaragna, who are defending, defended Ecuadorians Edgar Diminich and Jaime Santos. Snipe WHO Day 1

E começa o Hemisfério de Snipe em Cabo Frio. Depois de um final de semana de sol, o frio apareceu e a primeira regata está sendo disputada com um sudoeste de 8 nós!

And the WHO has just started in Cabo Frio, in a cold day with southwest wind at about 8 knots!

Vento rondando de sul pra sudoeste e pra sul de novo. Resultado: regatas canceladas. A estreia vai ficar para amanhã! A previsão é que nesta quarta-feira sejam realizadas três regatas para compensar o atraso!

The wind was too shifty today and both races were cancelled! Three races are scheduled for tomorrow!
